Day 3 of the BWSC25

Crossing into South Australia after 1'792km

What was meant to be a calm day of driving turned into a real test of resilience and problem-solving.After a few hours of driving, our first driver of the day noticed the car slowing down. Cruise control, which is key to efficient driving, had shut off itself and the activation button stopped responding. With no quick fix possible, we continued manually until the evening. The malfunction turned out to be a hardware problem, so we have now reassigned the function to another button. Even so, today we drove with a steady top speed of 95 km/h.

Not long after, we faced another challenge. As a Road Train thundered past, the turbulence combined with a sudden gust of wind. The force ripped our left wheel door completely off, sending it flying off the roadside and forcing an emergency stop. After a quick fix in harsh and dusty conditions, the team had the car safe and running again within minutes.

Despite these obstacles, we kept moving forward and entered South Australia. Today we drove 580 km, which was unfortunately 50 km less than the goal we had set for the day. Each challenge pushes us to adapt, and refine our car under the pressure.

After all, this is first and foremost a challenge, and we are ready to continue tomorrow to aCe the race!
