We kicked off the day just over the South Australian border, feeling somewhat at home as we camped in the same spot where we tested just a month ago.

Today included the longest driver stint of the race so far: 4.5 hours! Before the control stop in Coober Pedy, we had to make a quick stop due to a torn wheel.

Later, we ran into more trouble with our wheeldors. While yesterday’s fixes kept them securely attached, the mechanism, still damaged from the day before, caused them to open repeatedly. Tonight, we are building a new mechanism to finally put the issue to rest.

We also made a strategic decision to slow down today to conserve energy. With heavy rain forecast for the next two days, we prioritized charging our battery, and it is now nearly full, giving us the reserve we need to push through low-solar conditions.
